USPORTS Varsity Blues Sponsorship

Situation

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues organization required a compelling visual asset to effectively communicate the value and presence of their sponsors during USPORTS Finals 2025. This visual content was critical for two reasons: formally thanking current partners for their support and providing concrete, high-impact evidence for future potential sponsors to understand the visibility offered by Varsity Blues and USPORTS partnerships.

Task

My task was to conceive, capture, and produce a high-quality sponsorship highlight video that showcased how current sponsors tangibly appeared during Varsity Blues games. This involved independently managing the entire production lifecycle, from shooting the necessary footage at the games to the final editing and delivery of the promotional video.

Approach

Creative Concept & Planning

I developed the visual approach, strategically focusing the video not just on logos, but on people interacting with the sponsors' presence (e.g., in-arena booths, branded activities) and the effectiveness of digital messaging boards to capture audience attention.

Filming & Editing

I attended Varsity Blues games and proactively shot all necessary footage, capturing dynamic shots of sponsor branding on digital boards, physical signage, and crowd engagement with sponsored elements. I edited the footage into a cohesive and engaging final video. I utilized editing techniques to highlight the clear messaging and visibility of the sponsor brands, ensuring the video met the dual objectives of expressing gratitude and serving as a powerful marketing tool for future sponsorship pitches.
